Holdin' Out

Quick update.....we went to the doc this morning for our 40-week-appt (due date is tomorrow). Since hearing last week that I may need to be induced today, I had really been struggling mentally with what to do. I have tried SOOOO hard all this time not to control the situation, and let him come in his own time. I am perfectly fine with my doc saying I need to be induced, but didn't want to do it for my own personal reasons. Dr. Moore said today that I could induce tonite if I wanted to, but that would be the only reason. If I were miserable, that would be one thing....I have my miserable moments, but all in all I'm fine and dandy. He was comfortable with my size, and since I had an ultrasound last week and the fluid levels were fine, he recommended I ride it out. After many, many prayers, that's all I needed to hear!! I'm taking a chance on not having one of my 2 docs deliver me, since neither are on call this Saturday or Sunday. If he has not come by Monday the 18th they will have to induce me, as they will not allow their patients to go more than a week past due. So, it's back to work tomorrow....no reason to sit at home taking up maternity leave time.

Any Day Now!!!

This picture was actually taken 2 weeks ago at our 37-week appt. The camera is looking down on his forehead. His right arm is coming across his face, and his chubby, little left hand is resting on top of his right arm. He has been hiding his face since about 20 weeks.
We went to the doctor this morning, and I was possibly going to have my membranes stripped, however, I wasn't dilated enough. We're sitting at 39 weeks, 1 day, and MAYBE 1 cm at best. My weight gain has leveled off at 27 lbs, which my doc is really happy with, but my belly was measuring 3 weeks behind schedule this time (has only been 1-2 weeks behind the past few visits). She wanted to do another ultrasound to check the amniotic fluid level and Tripp's growth. If either were not ideal they were going to want to induce me today. Both were okay. He has stayed glued to my right side all this time, and all the fluid is on the left. He's just taking up every square inch possible. His growth was okay too...approx. 7 lbs, 4 oz. in the 60% in overall size. Two weeks ago he was in the 65% in overall size at approx. 6 lbs, 13 oz.
Sooooo, having said all that, they want me to come back Tuesday, and if I'm still not progressing, doc wants us to consider inducing. But, having said THAT, I could go into labor before I finish posting this message. If nothing else, the UT/UGA game should help the process along a bit.
Stay tuned to the blog as Dale will try to post all our updates on here, or through his Twitter @adalepatton. I will most likely be able to do some updates on Facebook, as well.
ANY DAY NOW!!!

The Nursery is ALMOST done!

I'm definitely getting a last big surge of energy the past week, and have been on a major organizing spree! (As if that's really different from any other time). All the newborn and 3-month clothes, blankets, lovies, sheets, and swaddles have been washed. Just have a few last decorating touches, and the room should be in tip-top shape!

Still looking for letters to put above his bed - either the full name or his initials - but haven't found the right "look" yet. Definitely want something rustic! I've found a few great websites but the shipping takes forever. I'll hold out for just the right thing!!
I've been playing around with what items to hang on the rack. My wonderful neighbor gave me a few more padded hangers to display some of the special outfits. Thanks Lindsey M.!
Finally found a great bookshelf when Mama was here a few weekends ago. Still playing around with how to organize and display cute stuff there. We left the backing off so you can see through to the wall stripes.

Found this super cute shower curtain and towels at PB Kids with a lovely gift certificate from one of Dale's coworkers. Now to decide on a paint color! I'm thinking one of the dark blues....we'll see! I'm not the most decisive person on earth right now.
